These terms govern your use of Tailored(the “Service”) operated at https://cv-ai-app-lac.vercel.app. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using the Service, you confirm you meet this requirement and that you have legal authority to enter into these terms.
2. Your account
You sign in with Google. You're responsible for activity under your account. Keep your Google account secure; if you believe someone else has accessed your account, contact us immediately.
3. Plans and billing
3.1 Free tier
New accounts receive 5 AI credits at signup. These credits do not expire. Free-tier users get full access to the editor, bullet impact scoring, recruiter heatmap, job-URL auto-fetch, and ATS score checker.
3.2 Credit packs (one-time)
Credit packs (from $0.99) are charged once at purchase. Credits never expire. One credit is consumed per AI action — CV generation, Smart Tailoring, a cover letter, or an interview-prep set. Failed AI calls are automatically refunded.
3.3 Pro subscription (recurring)
Pro Monthly ($19/month) and Pro Annual ($149/year) are recurring subscriptions billed in advance by Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current rate. Pro Annual includes a 14-day free trial for new subscribers — your card is authorised at signup but not charged until day 14, and you can cancel any time during the trial without charge.
3.4 Cancellation
You can cancel any subscription at any time through the Stripe billing portal (linked from your dashboard). Your Pro features remain active through the end of the current billing period. We do not pro-rate refunds for partial periods except as described in our Refund Policy.
3.5 Price changes
We may change our prices. If we change the price of an existing subscription, we'll notify you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. You can cancel before the new price applies.
3.6 Taxes
Prices shown exclude sales tax and VAT. Stripe Tax calculates and adds applicable taxes at checkout based on your billing location.
4. Refunds
Our refund commitments are detailed in the Refund Policy. In short: failed AI calls are automatically refunded; Pro Annual is fully refundable during the 14-day trial; unused credit packs are refundable within 14 days of purchase.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to create fraudulent, deceptive, or materially false resumes or applications;
- Upload content that infringes intellectual property, defames any person, or violates any law;
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract our prompts, models, or proprietary data;
- Resell, white-label, or sublicense the Service without our written consent;
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without authorisation;
- Submit content that exploits or harms minors;
- Use automated tools to make excessive requests, beyond what our published rate limits allow.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
6. AI output — honest disclaimer
The Service uses third-party AI to generate, score, and tailor resume content. AI output can be wrong, biased, or stylistically inconsistent. We layer multiple safeguards (per-bullet validation, five deterministic anti-hallucination guards on Smart Tailoring) but cannot guarantee:
- That AI-generated content will pass any specific ATS or recruiter filter;
- That using the Service will result in interviews, offers, or employment;
- That impact scores or heatmap visualisations predict any individual recruiter's actual reaction;
- That AI suggestions accurately reflect industry norms in every region or company.
You are responsible for reviewing AI output before using it in real applications. The Service is a drafting assistant, not an employment outcome.
7. Your content
You own everything you create or upload. By using the Service you grant us a narrow, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, transmit, and display your content solely as required to operate the Service for you (rendering your resume, running AI tailoring, generating PDF/DOCX exports, etc.).
We do not use your content to train any AI model. Our sub-processors are listed in the Privacy Policy; the AI vendor (Google Gemini) processes your content under their API terms and does not use API inputs to train their consumer models.
8. Our intellectual property
The Service's name, brand, logo, templates, methodology content, code, and product UI are owned by us. You don't get any licence to them beyond using the Service as intended.
9. Service availability
We try hard to keep the Service available but we don't guarantee uptime. We may perform maintenance, change features, or remove features at any time. Material changes that reduce functionality on a paid plan will be announced before they take effect.
10. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard. We can suspend or terminate your account for breach of these terms, suspected fraud, or chargeback abuse. On termination we delete your data per the retention rules in the Privacy Policy.
11. Warranties and disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including without limitation fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate, suitable, or free of unexpected results.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) US $100 or (b) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost employment opportunities, or lost data, even if advised of their possibility.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions the limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of (a) your breach of these terms, (b) your misuse of the Service, or (c) content you upload that infringes a third party's rights.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of- laws rules. Disputes arising under these terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we both consent to that jurisdiction. (Counsel should review this choice for your actual entity jurisdiction before launch.)
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance of the updated terms. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
