Tailored vs Rezi: two AI resume tools, different safety models

Rezi is a mature, ATS-focused builder with a scoring system, an AI interviewer and a lifetime plan. We overlap more with Rezi than with anyone else here — so this comparison is mostly about what each of us does with the model's output. Here's the honest version.

When you should choose Rezi

Rezi's lifetime plan is a genuinely good deal if you expect to job-hunt on and off for years. One payment, no renewals, no thinking about it again. Our one-time option is a credit pack rather than a lifetime licence, so for a multi-year horizon their maths is better than ours.

Their Rezi Score breaks a resume down across a couple of dozen structural checks — formatting, section presence, parsing risks. If you want a thorough structural audit of a document rather than a per-posting comparison, that is a different and useful lens.

They also ship a job board and a longer track record, with several million users behind the product. If maturity and breadth matter more to you than any single capability, that is a fair reason to pick them.

When you should choose Tailored

When you care what the AI is allowed to claim on your behalf. This is the real difference between us. Every AI-proposed edit passes a deterministic post-check that rejects invented dates, invented metrics and invented company names — and the same check runs on the interview prep, so a talking point can never cite an achievement your CV doesn't contain. Prompt instructions are probabilistic; a guard is not.

When you want interview prep that starts from your weak spots. Ours reads the match report and builds questions from the requirements your CV does not cover, then puts them first — because those are the ones you'll answer worst and therefore the only ones worth rehearsing. Every question also carries the evidence from your own CV you can build an answer from.

When you want to try it before creating anything. You can upload a CV, edit it and download a PDF without an account. Nothing is gated behind a signup you have to regret later.

Frequently asked

Do you have interview prep like Rezi does?
Yes, and it works differently. Rezi runs an interactive AI interviewer. We generate the question set for a specific application — role questions from the posting, behavioural questions from your history, and gap questions built from the requirements your CV doesn't cover — with the evidence from your own CV attached to each. The gap questions come first, because those are the ones worth the hour before an interview.
What is a deterministic anti-fabrication guard?
Code, not a prompt. After the model proposes an edit, we check its output against your actual CV and the job posting: any number, date or multi-word company name that isn't already in one of them causes the proposal to be discarded before you see it. It also catches edits based on text you have since changed, and edits that change nothing.
Which is cheaper?
It depends on your horizon. Rezi's lifetime plan is a single payment and ours is not, so over several years they win on price. For a single search, our free tier plus a $9 credit pack that never expires is usually the cheaper path, and our analysis features cost nothing at any volume.
Can I use it without signing up?
Yes. Upload a CV, edit it in the browser and download a PDF as a guest. Signing in saves your work and unlocks tailoring; nothing is deleted or held hostage if you don't.
